Our history

SurgConnect was founded in Cali, Colombia, in 2021—a city that represents a significant portion of the country's medical tourism industry and experiences firsthand both the growing demand from international patients and the challenges they face when searching for a trustworthy specialist.

Its founder, a physician by training, identified a clear problem: patients from different countries were traveling to Colombia for surgery without access to verified information about the professionals who would treat them, without guidance throughout the process, and without a clear way to coordinate the services surrounding a surgical procedure. Choosing to undergo surgery abroad required a level of trust that the market was not providing in a structured way.

Since then, SurgConnect has been dedicated to building the trust infrastructure that this process requires through specialist credential verification with the relevant Colombian authorities, detailed physician profiles, and a patient-centered support model designed to make the surgical journey safer, more transparent, and better coordinated.
